Why this piece is awesome: This is a crossover kid!AU with The Flash (CW). Both shows feature quasi-parental figures (J'onn J'onnz and Joe West) for the shows' main heroes. I loved that this parallel was pointed out in this very cute piece (and the daughter-father dynamic of Kara, Alex and J'onn is played out wonderfully in the canon as well). I adore Kara's little red boots and Alex's mini-agent outfit.

Why this piece is awesome: I love the hurt/comfort pose in this, the muted colours and the intense gazing at each other. On the show there's a a classic scene where Kara rescues Lena bridal style (the artist also has a corresponding art piece for that) but here Kara is the vulnerable one and Lena is able to show her caring side. They are like Smallville's Clark/Lex but with more communication and less pig-headedness (though they do still keep secrets from each other)!
