Why this piece is awesome: I love the style of painting. It fits so perfectly for illustrating the Harry Potter books, especially the early ones. I love the use of colour to delineate the world inside Privet Drive and Harry's world. Also, Harry's little face and the tiny snake are utterly darling.

Why this piece is awesome: It's Harry's and Ginny's first kiss from the books. I do not ship Harry & Ginny except how Blvnk is drawing them, then I love them so very much. This is the piece that made me follow the artist. I love the dynamic feel of it, the emotion pouring off it. I had a hard time picking a piece to rec, because I love their art so much. Blvnk is exceptional when it comes to drawing out an emotion and getting rid of anything extraneous. It is all focused one a specific moment. I have hearts in my eyes when I look at her Potter Family tag.

Why this piece is awesome: I'll begin by saying that Hogwarts House sorting is V. SUBJECTIVE, so keep that in mind if you don't agree with the way this artist placed these four female Marvel characters.

THAT SAID, I think this set is incredibly clever and sweet. What makes each piece extra special is the myriad of small details that add to reinforce the characters' personality and sorting. I also love that the artist purposely chose to only draw female characters. :P

Why this piece is awesome: The artist quotes a few lines from Deathly Hallows, at the final battle, and this is the crucial bit: "Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy running through the crowd, not even attempting to fight, screaming for their son". This piece is set after those lines, when Narcissa has found Draco. The desperate fear in her eyes, the maternal concern, and the way she is so obviously checking him over for injuries? *chef's kiss* Lovely.

Why this piece is awesome: This is an adorable and sweet portrait of Lucius and Narcissa as a young couple. It's a gentle kiss, an affectionate moment. Why this piece is awesome: It's hard to have been anywhere in the Harry Potter fandom and not come across Makani's art at some point. While I love so many of her pieces, I keep returning to this one. Narcissa's tight grip on Lucius and the mixed despair/relief in her face. The crack in Lucius' mask and the tear in his hood, with the tiny spot of blood on his forehead. Draco sleeping calmly in his crib. And Lucius' two tiny words: "I'm fine." The heartwrenching love and worry is so clear in this piece. I've written at least two fics inspired by this, and I'm sure I'll write more in the future.
